AT&T call forwarding
On an AT&T cell phone, dial **004*1[your Kai number]*11*15# with your Kai number. Your phone still rings first. Kai only gets the calls you don't pick up.

Have your Kai number handy. It's in Dashboard > Phone System.
Turn Forwarding On
- Use the AT&T phone you want to forward. Open the keypad.
- Dial the code below. Put a 1 in front of your Kai number.
- Tap Call. Wait for the message that says it worked.
- Call your number from another phone and let it ring to check that Kai answers.
Calls you can't answer (recommended)
One code covers calls you miss, calls while you're on the phone, and calls when your phone is off. Your phone rings for 15 seconds first.

To change the ring time, swap the last number for 10, 15, 20, 25, 30. Keep it short so Kai answers before your voicemail does.
Don't use the Call Forwarding switch in your phone's settings. On most phones it sends every call to Kai, and your phone stops ringing.
AT&T rejects the code? AT&T doesn't list its own forwarding codes. Call AT&T and ask for conditional call forwarding to your Kai number. Ask for no answer, busy, and unreachable. Don't ask to forward all calls.

How It Works
The forward happens in AT&T's network, not in an app. Your phone rings as usual. When you don't pick up, AT&T sends the call on to your Kai number.
AT&T says you can only change forwarding from the cell phone itself. Forwarded calls skip your AT&T voicemail.
AT&T's guide doesn't list dial codes. The code above is the standard one for AT&T's kind of network. Test it after you dial it.

Why does my AT&T phone reject the code?

Should I use the Call Forwarding switch in my phone settings?

Can I change how long my phone rings first?
Yes. Change the last number in the code. You can pick 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 seconds. We suggest 15, so Kai answers before your voicemail does.
Does call forwarding send my text messages to Kai too?
No. Call forwarding only moves voice calls. Texts keep going to your phone. To have Kai answer texts, you need texting turned on for your Kai number, which is a separate step.
Does my carrier charge for forwarded calls?
It depends on your plan. Most unlimited plans include forwarded calls, but some carriers count them as minutes you use. Check your plan if you are not sure.
