Referrals Explained: How to Share KaiCalls and Earn Free-Month Credit
How KaiCalls Referrals work — share your personal link, track signups and conversions, and earn free-month credit toward your own plan.
Referring another business to KaiCalls through your personal referral link earns you free-month credit toward your own account once that business signs up and starts checkout. Every KaiCalls account gets its own link, free to use, with nothing to apply for. Share it, KaiCalls tracks the signup and the Stripe checkout attribution, and your Referrals page shows the count.
Most small businesses find out about tools like KaiCalls from another owner who already uses one, not from an ad. Referrals gives that word-of-mouth a link to click and a number you can watch, instead of a favor you hope pays off.

What Referrals actually is
Referrals is a personal link, one per KaiCalls account, that you send to another business owner. It is built for existing customers who know someone who misses calls, books appointments by phone, or needs faster lead follow-up. There is nothing to apply for and no cost to participate.
The flow is three steps: you share your link, your friend signs up through it, and KaiCalls records the signup along with the Stripe checkout attribution. Tracking is first-party — your dashboard generates the link with a via code and follows it through to checkout, so you're not relying on anyone remembering to mention your name.
How the reward works
Referred activity earns free-month credit toward your own KaiCalls plan, shown on your Billing page alongside your subscription. Credit is tied to a business you referred actually completing checkout — a shared link that never converts doesn't earn anything.
Worth stating plainly: KaiCalls' own help documentation notes that billing-credit automation for referrals is still being wired up. Referral activity is tracked as soon as the business you referred starts checkout, but if you don't see a credit appear where you expect it, support can confirm the credit status on your account directly.
What Referrals can't do
- It doesn't pay recurring cash income. That's the separate affiliate program, reached from a "Become an Affiliate" button on the Referrals page that links out to the partners page.
- It doesn't credit a shared link on its own. The business you refer has to sign up through your link and start checkout — sharing alone doesn't move the counter.
- It doesn't count activity that skipped your link. If your friend signs up without your exact link, or before you shared it, it won't show up in your Friends Referred or Converted counts.
How to refer someone and track it
- Go to Dashboard > Referrals.
- Find the Your Referral Link card and click Copy.
- Send the link by email, text, or any channel you like.
- Your friend opens the link and starts checkout — KaiCalls records the attribution on the business and the Stripe subscription.
- Come back to the Referrals page to watch Friends Referred and Converted.
FAQ
What do I actually get for referring someone? Free-month credit toward your own KaiCalls plan, once the business you referred signs up through your link and starts checkout. If a credit doesn't show up where you expect it, support can confirm the status on your account.
Is there a difference between Referrals and the affiliate program? Yes. Referrals tracks businesses you personally send to KaiCalls and credits your own account. The affiliate program is for recurring cash income and is a separate signup through the partners page, linked from the Referrals page.
Why does my referral count show zero after I shared the link? The dashboard only counts sign-ups that came through your tracking link, and conversions only after payment. Confirm your friend used your exact link, then reach out to support if it still looks off.
What does my referred friend actually sign up for? KaiCalls plans start at $69/mo (Solo) or $199/mo (Pro), both with a generous answered-call allowance and no per-minute overage — the same plans any new customer sees.
