You need an active Thumbtack Pro account receiving customer leads.

2. Thumbtack alert email

Know which email gets your new lead alerts from Thumbtack.

Setup

How to connect Thumbtack.

Connect your lead flow in four simple steps.

    Open Connections in KaiCalls

    Go to Connections > Thumbtack.
  2. 2

    Copy your unique Inbound Lead Email

    KaiCalls gives you a private email address (e.g. leads-xyz@kaicalls.com) to receive lead alerts.
  3. 3

    Add email forwarding in Thumbtack

    In Thumbtack Pro alert settings, add your KaiCalls email as a recipient.
  4. 4

    Choose your follow-up action

    Pick whether Kai should send an instant text, create a CRM lead, or alert your phone.

Verification

How to prove it worked.

Send a test lead to verify delivery.

  • Forward a sample Thumbtack lead email to your unique KaiCalls lead address.
  • Open KaiCalls > Contacts within 30 seconds.
  • Confirm the customer name, phone number, and project details appear in your list.
  • Verify that your chosen follow-up text or alert triggered successfully.

Troubleshooting

Fix common Thumbtack issues.

Lead not appearing in KaiCalls

Check that your email rule forwards the full Thumbtack HTML notification without trimming the customer contact details.

Phone number missing

On Thumbtack Direct Leads, phone numbers are shared immediately. On Opportunity leads, you must accept the lead in Thumbtack first.

Auto-text did not send

Verify that your business number has completed A2P 10DLC registration.

Delayed notifications

If your email host has a forwarding delay, use automated auto-forward rules in Gmail or Outlook to send instantly.

Leaving

How to disconnect Thumbtack.

Remove your KaiCalls email from your Thumbtack alert settings. Kai will stop getting new lead alerts. All previous leads remain saved in your KaiCalls contacts.
