Overview
What the Salesforce connection does.
Kai turns phone calls into tracked Salesforce records.
Creates new Leads
When a new caller rings, Kai captures their name, phone, and inquiry. He creates a standard Lead record in your org.
Logs completed call Tasks
Kai logs an Activity Task on the record. The Task contains the call summary, duration, and transcript link.
Matches existing Contacts
If the caller's phone matches an existing Contact or Lead, Kai attaches the call note to their record.
Respects assignment rules
New leads respect your Salesforce lead assignment rules and auto-response emails.
Prerequisites
Before you connect.
1. Salesforce user permissions
Your Salesforce user account needs API Enabled permissions and rights to create Leads, Contacts, and Tasks.
2. Edition requirements
Salesforce Enterprise, Unlimited, Performance, or Professional with API access enabled.
Setup
How to connect Salesforce.
Connect your org in four simple steps.
- 1
Open Connections in KaiCalls
Go to Connections > Salesforce. - 2
Choose Production or Sandbox
Pick Production for your live company org, or Sandbox to test first. - 3
Log in and approve access
Sign in with your Salesforce admin login and click Allow to grant access. - 4
Pick Lead or Contact destination
Choose whether new callers should become Leads or Contacts by default, then save.
Verification
How to prove it worked.
Run a test call and check your Salesforce Leads tab.
- Place a test call to your KaiCalls number from a phone not in Salesforce.
- Give a test name like "Bruce Wayne" and state your question.
- Wait for the call to finish and log in to Salesforce.
- Open the Leads tab: Verify "Bruce Wayne" appears with phone number.
- Open the Lead: Check Activity history for the logged call Task with notes.
Troubleshooting
Fix common Salesforce errors.
API Disabled error
Your Salesforce profile must have API Enabled turned on in System Permissions. Ask your Salesforce administrator.
Required field missing
If your org requires custom mandatory fields on Leads, Kai populates standard fields. Check validation rules if saves fail.
Leads route to wrong owner
Check your Salesforce Lead Assignment Rules. If rules are active, Salesforce assigns the lead based on your queue rules.
Login session expired
Click Reconnect on the Salesforce card in KaiCalls to refresh your OAuth grant.
Leaving
How to disconnect Salesforce.
