Total Wireless call forwarding
On Total Wireless, try *71 and your Kai number. Your phone still rings first. Kai only gets the calls you miss. Then test it.
Before you start: Total Wireless runs on the Verizon network. This page uses the Verizon code for missed calls. Total Wireless doesn't list that code itself.
Have your Kai number handy. It's in Dashboard > Phone System.
Turn Forwarding On
- Use the Total Wireless phone you want to forward. Open the keypad.
- Dial the code below with your 10-digit Kai number. No 1 in front.
- Tap Call and wait for the beep.
- Call your number from another phone and let it ring to check that Kai answers.
Calls you miss or can't take (recommended)
Your phone rings about 3–4 rings first. The network sets that, and you can't change it.

Don't use *72. Total Wireless lists it, but it sends every call to Kai, and your phone stops ringing.
Code didn't work? Total Wireless says forwarding is only on some phones and in some areas. Call Total Wireless and ask for conditional call forwarding to your Kai number.
Want Kai to take every call? Then give out your Kai number as your main number. You don't need forwarding at all.
Turn Forwarding Off
Dial this from the same phone and tap Call:
*73
Then call your number from another phone to check that only your phone rings.
How It Works
Total Wireless's help lists *72 to forward all calls and *73 to stop. It doesn't list a code for missed calls only.
*71 is the Verizon code for calls you miss or can't take. Total Wireless doesn't confirm it, so the test call is what tells you it works.
