Kinetic by Windstream home phone
Kinetic's phone code forwards every call. To send just the calls you miss to Kai, use the “no answer” rule in Kinetic Voice Manager, or ask Kinetic to set it up.
Which Kinetic line is this? This page is for a Kinetic (Windstream) home phone. Kinetic Voice Manager comes with Kinetic digital voice lines.
Have your Kai number handy. It's in Dashboard > Phone System.
Send Missed Calls to Kai
- Sign in to Kinetic Voice Manager at voice.windstream.net.
- Open call forwarding.
- Pick the “no answer” choice. Calls only forward after your phone rings for a while.
- Enter your 10-digit Kai number and save.
- Call your number from a cell phone and let it ring to check that Kai answers.
No Voice Manager? Then your line is a regular home line. Call Kinetic and ask for “call forwarding no answer” to your Kai number.
Don't dial 72#. Kinetic uses it to forward every call. Kai would take them all, and your home phone would stop ringing.
Skip the immediate rule too. In Voice Manager, “immediate” forwarding sends calls away before your phone rings.
Turn Forwarding Off
In Voice Manager, switch the no answer rule off and save. If Kinetic set it up, call them back. If you dialed 72# by mistake, dial 73#. In some areas the # goes first instead.
How It Works
Kinetic Voice Manager lists a few kinds of call forwarding:
- Immediate sends every call right away.
- No answer waits, then forwards calls you don't pick up.
- Unavailable forwards calls when your line has no power or is unplugged.
Use no answer with Kai. You can add unavailable too, for outages.

Can Kinetic forward only the calls I miss?
Yes, on Kinetic digital voice lines. Sign in to Kinetic Voice Manager at voice.windstream.net and turn on no answer forwarding to your Kai number. On a regular home line, call Kinetic and ask for call forwarding no answer.
What does 72# do on Kinetic?
It forwards every call, and your home phone stops ringing. Don’t use it with Kai. Dial 73# to turn it off. In some areas the # goes first.
Can Kai answer if my Kinetic line goes down?
Voice Manager has an unavailable rule for when your line has no power or is unplugged. Set it to your Kai number too.
Do I lose my phone number if I forward it?
No. Forwarding does not move or cancel your number. Keep your phone plan active. Your number stays yours, and you can turn forwarding off any time.
