Set the hours Kai follows
Keep daytime calls with your team. Give Kai a clear plan for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
What business hours control
Business hours tell Kai when to ring your team first and when to answer on its own. Outside those hours, Kai can greet callers, take a message, and capture lead details according to your after-hours settings.
If you leave the schedule unchanged, Kai uses the same routing behavior all day. Set the schedule once, then adjust it when your availability changes.
Setting Hours
Open Dashboard > Business > Settings > Business Hours to configure your schedule.
- Set the open and close times for each day you are open.
- Turn individual days on or off. A day turned off uses after-hours routing all day.
- Click Save. The schedule is used for new calls as soon as it is saved.
Holidays and closed dates
Add dates when your business is closed, such as holidays, company events, or staff days. Kai uses after-hours routing on those dates, even when they fall on a normally open day.
Click Add Holiday, choose the date, add a label, and save.
Choose what happens after hours
Choose the experience callers get outside your schedule:
- AI-Only:Kai answers, handles the conversation, captures the details you ask for, and takes a message when needed.
- Voicemail:Callers hear your voicemail greeting and can leave a message. The recording is transcribed and saved with the call.
- Custom Greeting:Kai starts with the greeting you write, then follows your AI or voicemail setting.
Time Zones
Kai reads your schedule in your business's time zone. Check it in Dashboard > Business > Business Profile.
A few useful checks
- •Start with the hours your team can reliably answer. Widen the window later if you want Kai to cover more of the day.
- •Add holiday dates before they arrive so the schedule changes without a last-minute edit.
- •Review the schedule when your office hours change seasonally.
- •Pair this page with Notifications if the team should receive new-lead alerts by email or SMS.
