Bland vs KaiCalls
Compare the full calling cost
Bland offers a configurable voice-agent platform. KaiCalls offers business phone plans with AI answering. Compare the recurring fee, measured usage, carrier costs and implementation work together. Published by KaiCalls.
$0 platform fee. Carrier costs are separate.
Plus $0.12 per talk minute and applicable extras.
USD, monthly billing. Enterprise requires a quote.
Separate platform, talk time and transfer time
Bland publishes two self-serve tariffs plus a custom Enterprise plan. Its AI rate includes the language model, transcription and voice synthesis. Telephony is separate, through your carrier or Bland at pass-through cost.
| Plan | Platform/month | Talk/minute | Transfer/minute |
|---|---|---|---|
| Start | $0 | $0.14 | $0.05 |
| Build | $299 | $0.12 | $0.04 |
| Enterprise | Custom contract and volume. | ||
Start lists 10 concurrent calls and 100 calls/day; Build lists 50 concurrent calls and 2,000 calls/day. Higher limits can affect eligibility even when a cheaper tariff wins the arithmetic. Bring-your-own-telephony customers do not pay Bland transfer fees; carrier charges still apply.
A worked usage subtotal with transfers
This scenario assumes 200 calls, 600 billable talk minutes and 120 separately billable transfer minutes using Bland telephony. Start is $90; Build is $375.80. Each subtotal is the platform fee plus talk minutes times the talk rate plus transfer minutes times the transfer rate.
The subtotal excludes carrier charges, numbers, taxes and introductory credits. It is not a complete invoice estimate. Confirm metering, rounding, number rental and which transfer leg is charged before budgeting. The example assumes the daily and concurrent-call limits fit your traffic.
For the same talk usage with your own telephony, remove the modeled transfer fee and add your carrier bill. Evaluate both tariffs and any negotiated Enterprise offer; do not treat the headline AI rate as total call cost.
What KaiCalls includes at each monthly price
KaiCalls prices below use the same current catalog as our pricing page. Match your expected volume to a plan before comparing the monthly fee.
| Plan | Monthly price | Expected allowance | Included numbers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kai Backup | $10/mo | ~20 Kai-answered calls/mo | 1 |
| Kai Line | $79/mo | ~170 Kai-answered calls/mo | 1 |
| Kai Office | $349/mo | ~800 Kai-answered calls/mo | 1 |
There are no per-minute overage charges. Your plan includes an expected monthly call allowance. If your call volume stays higher, we recommend the next plan and notify you before anything changes. You can choose to keep your current plan, and we move you back down if volume drops.
An expected call allowance is not an unlimited-call promise. Taxes, optional services and your existing carrier may add cost. Check the full KaiCalls pricing and plan terms before choosing.

Choose who will own the call workflow
A Bland deployment needs an owner for agent configuration, connections, routing and ongoing checks. A KaiCalls buyer should verify the same required business task against the configured service. Neither a tariff nor a feature list proves that a particular workflow will complete.
- Write the required outcome, such as capturing a request and notifying the assigned team.
- List integrations, credentials, carrier setup and the staff member responsible for maintaining them.
- Test corrections, unavailable recipients and failed connections with approved sample data.
- Budget staff time and optional services alongside the recurring phone charges.
